About the project
The India LEDS Research and Action Platform is a joint initiative of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) and Kalpa Impact.
The platform documents project implementations at the state and district levels across seven low carbon development pathways from low carbon electricity systems, transport systems, to climate finance. It brings together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to document what is working on the ground and support decision-making.
The platform is designed to:
- Track and inform progress
- Evaluate real-world impact
- Identify scalable and replicable solutions
- Act as a neutral convening hub
- Build capacity
- Offer insights for policy and planning
About the position
We are hiring a Research Associate focused on public policy. This is a full-time, one-year consultancy contract. The Research Associate will work from Mumbai.
Your responsibilities
The Research Associate will be expected to:
- Support in writing research notes, reports, and presentations
- Research, collect, organise, and maintain data relevant to LEDS implementation in India
- Update and maintain the India LEDS website with new content and data; this will take up approximately 40% of your time
- Coordinate with external experts, partner organisations, and stakeholders as needed
- Support fieldwork, consultations, or events when required
Your background
- A postgraduate degree in public policy, economics, development studies, climate change and sustainable studies, or a related area
- Ability to read and summarise policy documents, handle datasets, and write research briefs and presentations
- Good written English; clear, not jargon-heavy
- Prior exposure to climate, energy, transportation or environment topics is a plus
